Configuring Mac Mail

Before you begin please make sure you are connected to an internet source and check for the latest software updates, installing the latest version of Mac Mail.

Automatically Configure Mac Mail

  1. Open mail
  2. Click Add Account from the 'File' menu.
  3. Enter your full name, email address, and password.

NOTE: You may need to manually configure because automatic configuration tries to us an SSL connection.

Manually Configure Mac Mail

  1. Open Mail
  2. Click Add Account from the 'File' menu.
  3. Fill in the Full Name, Email Address, and Password fields.
  4. Deselect "Automatically set up account" and click Continue.

Incoming Mail Server Settings

  • Account type: POP or IMAP
  • Description of account (you set this to what you want)
  • Incoming Server Hostname: mail.yourdomainname.com
  • Username: your email address
  • Password: your password for the account
  • Incoming server port number:
    • POP = 110
    • IMAP = 143
  • Incoming Server Authentication: Password
  • Incoming Server supports SSL: Set to NO

Outgoing Mail Server Settings

  • Outgoing Mail Server: mail.yourdomainname.com
  • Outgoing Server Port: 25 - please try one of the following if 25 doesn't work - 26 or 587
  • Outgoing Server supports SSL: Set to NO

Select "Use Authentication" and enter your User Name and Password. Click Continue. (If prompted, enter the Outgoing mail Security settings.)

Completing setup: Once you verify your settings in the Account Summary, check Take account online and click Create to complete the process.

Using Secure SSL

Follow the steps above. Except make the following changes.

  • Your incoming and outgoing mail server will be mail#.ezhostingserver.com (# being the server your domain is on number 1-13 - found in WCP)
  • Incoming Account type
    • POP 995
    • IMAP 993
  • Outgoing Account type
    • SMTP 465
  • Set Supports SSL to YES
