This wiki will help you find the passwords that your web browsers use to log you in automatically.

How to retrieve your Saved Passwords from common Web Browsers

Google Chrome

  1. On your computer, open Chrome.
  2. At the top right, click More More and then Settings.
  3. At the bottom, click Show advanced settings.
  4. Under "Passwords and forms," click Manage passwords. A box will appear with a list of saved passwords.
  5. In the "Saved passwords" section, select the website and click Show.
  6. Windows & Mac: If you lock your computer with a password, you'll be prompted to enter your computer password.
  7. The website password will appear.

Mozilla Firefox

  1. On your computer, open Firefox.
  2. Click the menu button and choose Options.
  3. Click the Security panel.
  4. Click Saved Logins… and the Password Manager will open.
  5. To see the passwords you have saved, click Show Passwords.
  6. When you close the window, your passwords will be automatically hidden.

Internet Explorer (IE)

  1. On your computer, open Internet Explorer(IE).
  2. Search for "Credential Manager" from the Start Menu.
    • Alternatively, open the Control Panel (icons view), and click on the Credential Manager icon.
  3. Click on Web Credentials, and expand a listed website under "Web Passwords".
  4. Click on the Show link.
  5. Enter your user account's password to verify this is you and click on OK.

Microsoft Edge

  1. On your computer, open Microsoft Edge.
  2. Search for "Credential Manager" from the Start Menu.
    • Alternatively, open the Control Panel (icons view), and click on the Credential Manager icon.
  3. Click on Web Credentials, and expand a listed website under "Web Passwords".
  4. Click on the Show link.
  5. Enter your user account's password to verify this is you and click on OK.

(Apple/Mac) Safari

  1. On your computer, open Safari.
  2. Click on the word Safari
  3. Go to Preferences
  4. Click Passwords
  5. Check the box next to "Show Password for selected websites"
  6. Enter your user account's password to verify this is you and click on OK.
