This article explains how to configure SmarterMail to allow connections on additional ports and IP addresses. For example, configuring an alternate SMTP port or allowing SMTP connections on an additional IP address.
Add a new port/service to SmarterMail
Steps for adding an additional port/service to SmarterMail.
- Log into the SmarterMail web interface as an Administrator.
- Navigate to Settings > Bindings > Ports
- Click New
- Configure the appropriate settings for the port/service you are adding
- Click Save
NOTE: Before the new port/service can be used, you will need to assign it to one or more IP addresses. See the below section for instructions.
Add a port/service to an IP address in SmarterMail
Steps for adding a port/service to an IP address within SmarterMail.
- Log into the SmarterMail web interface as an Administrator.
- Navigate to Settings > Bindings > IP Addresses
- Right-click on the IP address on which you want to allow the port/service to be used and choose the Edit option. (NOTE: All IPs on the server should already be listed in this area)
- Check the port/service that you want to allow for the selected IP address
- Click Save
